---------------- Edit2: Here is a Special Comment from Keith Olberman, from November 10th: [link] ---------------- Edit: By the way, I am not attacking ALL people that are religious. Because I know some people that are and don't care on this matter. I'm just pointing out those extreme ones...that just cross the line with their own opinions and substitute it as God's to make it a valid point. ---------------- This only applies to California residents, but if from other states you can use. Prop 8 is going against Gay Marriage to keep traditional moral's of a man and a woman, and taking away the rights of normal human beings that just have a different choice. It's a bunch of religious hoo ha to me. They've been running AD's that tell us Gay Marriage will be taught in schools, therefore corrupting the youth. "Children in public schools will have to be taught that same-sex marriage is just as good as traditional marriage. Right now, 96 percent of California public school districts must teach "respect for marriage and committed relationships" without showing any bias regarding sexual orientation. Unless Proposition 8 passes, all of those school districts will be required to teach children in grades K-12 that same-sex marriage is equal in every way to traditional marriage." Dear gawd, we're teaching aour kids to be open minded! The horror! It's just sad really. What buissnes is it your's, to get between a couple's life, and tell them that they can't have a life together? What authority do you have to dictate these things. It's none of your buissnes. Wether you agree with it or not, it's better to just stay on the side lines and let people do what they want in their own lives. Let these people get married, let them have a normal life. There will be dire consequences with anything, but taking away another person's rights just because "The Bible Says So.." or "Euw that's disgusting", is wrong. I don't want to be another "Love is Love" preacher, but it's true. Love IS just Love. It's only an emotion felt between two people. Not JUST a man and a woman. A quote from a child who was on the field trip to their teacher's gay wedding: "Marriage, 6-year-old Nolan Alexander said Friday, is "people falling in love." It means, he added, "You stay with someone the rest of your life." The kids were brought to that wedding because it was their teacher. It wasn't some random Lesbian on the street getting married, and it wasn't to shove gay marriage in their face. They wanted to congradulate their teacher in her marriage. Edit: I would also like to ask, What if this was switched? What if straight marriage was banned? Put yourself in that situation. Sitting with the person you love, awaiting the soon arriving day of your marriage, watching the news when this comes on: "MARRIAGE BANNED: The Divorce rate is increasing, and to many lawsuits have been made. Therefore we can't marry any new couples". You are no longer to get married. You can't start a life together. No kids, no nothing. You are stuck with a wall in-between you. Everything you had hoped to start was crashed down by the general public. But throw in some discrimination in there. Bashing, hate threats, fights.. etc. It would be 10x worse at the least. Just think about that. My sister is gay, and is about to get married. It would be devastating if she wasn't allowed to, and not be able to start a family on her own. I don't want that to be taken away just because people are closed minded. So please, when you go to vote tomorrow: NO on Prop 8. Everyone deserves equal rights. Picture in stamp is: [link] To be honest, I am so sick of all of these Props going back and forth with these immature AD's. e____e;; Gawd. When will it all end.. |
